Ellinor Augustini - Korvstake
kr900.00
Ellinor Augustini is based in Gothenburg and studied at HDK Valand, where she earned her master’s degree in ceramic art in 2015. She is also one of the founders of the feminist artist collective Flick.
For Augustini, clay is a material that can both depict and question. It allows her to quickly explore different moods and to let symbols and everyday objects, items that often carry preconceived notions, be distorted, thereby inviting new interpretations. Her approach is conceptual, and she works sculpturally in ceramics, plaster, and other materials best suited to realizing her ideas.
Korvstaken is a recurring element in her work and was first created during her studies. Originally, she sculpted entire Falukorv sausages in clay for an exhibition, which led to the idea of placing four candles inside a clay Falukorv. The first Korvstaken was presented at HDK’s Christmas market in 2013 and has been available for sale every Christmas since. It is made from red stoneware clay and glazed in a classic Christmas red.
