Artist
Robert Möllard
Robert Möllard’s practice combines painting, writing, photography, video, calendars, robes, pearls and even a drumkit to challenge art conventions and contemporary value structures. As a self taught artist with a background in architecture, engineering and design, he has developed a language marked by conceptual play, ambiguity and childlike experimentation.
Drawing from his multifaceted background, Möllard constructs works that question the limits of good taste and the mechanisms by which we assign value to aesthetics. Each piece invites us to reconsider assumptions about what art is and what it can be. By weaving together disparate mediums and references, he creates a hybrid visual language that is as humorous and provocative as it is thoughtful. In November 2021 he presented his first solo exhibition at WAY gallery Sthlm and has since participated in numerous group exhibitions and collaborative projects. In 2025 he collaborated with his sister, artist Madelen Möllard, on a project with MINI Cooper, transforming a car into a rolling artwork of color and rhythm that extended their shared interest in play, transformation and the dissolution of boundaries between art, design and the everyday.
Robert Möllard (b. 1985 in Karlshamn, Sweden) lives and works in Stockholm.
