Melinda MW
Melinda MW’s practice draws from personal history, combining writing and design to explore emotion, memory and identity. “You’ve moved more than a diplomat’s child,” social services once remarked when they discovered she had lived in nine homes across three countries by the age of seven. This early experience sparked a lifelong search for a sense of home, a theme that continues to shape her work.
Her creative process is divided between writing and design, each offering a distinct form of expression. Writing allows her to delve into the subconscious and explore darker emotional landscapes, while design provides a lighter, more playful counterbalance. As an autodidact, she approaches both practices with an intuitive openness, using vivid colors and tactile materials to create imaginative spaces that offer respite. Together these practices form a dialogue between internal reflection and outward creation, inviting viewers to embrace both shadow and light.
Melinda MW (b. 1996 in Stockholm) lives and works in Stockholm.
