Antonia Pihl

Antonia L Pihl’s practice moves between fashion, art and graphic design, creating one of a kind, made to order pieces that blur boundaries of gender and style. With a bold use of logos, she makes authorship central to her expression, whether through clothing or aquarelle paintings. Her style is rough yet playful, marked by humor and sarcasm that destabilise traditional ideas of femininity and masculinity.

Drawing inspiration from male dominated interests such as sport, as well as 1990s skate culture and streetwear aesthetics, Pihl builds a visual language that is androgynous and boundary pushing. This approach has gained her both national and international recognition. In 2019 Vogue.com highlighted her gender bending designs, noting that “One thing’s for certain, Pihl will hit the ground running.” Endorsed early on by Sweden’s celebrity scene, she continues to cultivate a distinct position in contemporary fashion.

Antonia L Pihl (b. 1994) lives and works in Stockholm. She graduated from Beckmans College of Design in 2018.
