Stars are luminous celestial bodies, burning spheres of energy and light. For many, they are among the most beautiful things we can see with our eyes from Earth—eternal companions in the night sky. Throughout history, we have turned our gaze toward them to seek answers, comfort, and inspiration. In the past, we could only dream of what they were; today, we know they govern much of our lives, from our sense of time to our ecosystems. There are over 300 trillion stars in the universe—and we orbit one of them, like a planet on a skewer.
But stars don’t exist only in space. Here on Earth, we also call certain people stars—those who shine a little brighter in our lives.
In this exhibition, Alexander has painted his personal stars and created sculptures that generate their own sparkling starry moments. By working with wood—a material that carries the sun’s power through the trees that grow with its light—he connects the infinity of the universe with the closeness of Earth.
My hope is that, as a visitor, you not only have an otherworldly experience but also feel inspired to reflect on which stars shine brightest in your own life. - Alexander Felsing
