Together with Landet Stay and WAY gallery, Francesca Berlin has curate an exhibition that finds its home within nature.
Featuring six artists whose works take place inside the cabins,
surrounded by forest, silence, and sky.
This is not an exhibition about observing nature,
but about belonging to it.
A quiet reminder that we are only one part of a greater whole,
and that together, with the soil, the animals, the air, and the light,
we create what we call home.
ARTIST RESIDENCY
Over six months, the artworks will rest in dialogue with nature —
shaped by light, by weather, by time.
For a few days, each artist will stay on site,
to listen, to connect, to let the surroundings speak through their work.
WAY gallery and Landet Stay come together in a collaboration that explores the relationship between contemporary art and nature. Within Landet Stay’s cabins, surrounded by forest and stillness, carefully curated works by invited artists create a dialogue between artistic expression and the natural environment.
The exhibition unfolds over six months, during which the artists are invited to stay and work on site through a series of short residencies. Immersed in the landscape, they are given the opportunity to develop their practice in close connection with their surroundings.
The collaboration reflects a shared vision of thoughtful experiences, where art becomes an integral part of a place and opens the door to deeper presence, a stronger connection to the landscape, and a reflection on what we call home.
Elsa Ekman
Elsa Ekman is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice moves between painting, collage, printmaking, and sculpture. Her work explores the space between organic forms and the yet-to-be-defined, creating poetic compositions where intuition, movement, and material experimentation converge.
During her residency at Landet Stay, Ekman worked in close dialogue with the surrounding landscape, drawing inspiration from the subtle shifts of nature and the quiet pace of rural life.
The works presented at Landet Stay reflect Ekman’s fascination with organic transformation and fluid forms. Layers of colour, texture, and collage unfold into compositions that evoke botanical structures, shifting landscapes, and imagined ecosystems. Set against the warm timber interiors, the works create a gentle dialogue between art, architecture, and the natural world beyond.
Rebecca von Matérn
Rebecca von Matern is a Stockholm-based artist whose practice explores atmosphere, emotion, and the subtle relationship between inner and outer landscapes. Through works that balance sensitivity and presence, she creates spaces for reflection, inviting viewers into states of contemplation and connection.
During her residency at Landet Stay, von Matern found inspiration in moments of stillness and attention. Her work reflects an interest in how art can both shape and be shaped by its environment, drawing on the unique dialogue between nature, architecture, and the feeling of being held by a place.
The pieces I created for Landet Stay came from a feeling of being spiritually sheltered and held. I feel connected to the idea behind Landet Stay, that an atmosphere itself can hold you.

Tove Eklund
Tove Eklund is a Stockholm-based artist whose practice is rooted in painting, exploring themes of presence, memory, and human experience. Through a distinctive visual language, she creates works that move between the intimate and the universal, balancing sensitivity, depth, and narrative ambiguity.
During her residency at Landet Stay, Eklund found inspiration in the immediacy of her surroundings. The open horizons, shifting weather, and sense of timelessness offered a space for reflection and creation, allowing new ideas to emerge directly from the experience of being present in the landscape.
As the rain tapped against the windows and the fire crackled in the stove, I could have sat there forever with my pen and the vast horizons stretching out before me.

Thyra Weiss
Thyra Weiss is a Stockholm-based textile artist whose practice explores memory, transformation, and the fragile boundary between presence and disappearance. Working primarily through weaving, she creates tactile compositions where forms slowly emerge and dissolve, inviting close attention to subtle shifts in texture, light, and material.
During her residency at Landet Stay, Weiss found inspiration in the moss-covered landscape, mist-filled horizons, and the quiet details often hidden in plain sight. The residency offered a space to work slowly and in close dialogue with her materials, deepening her exploration of how memory, grief, love, and tenderness can be woven into a single surface.
I am interested in what remains hidden around us at all times, things that only become visible if you look very closely.

Anna Mörner
Anna Mörner is a Stockholm-based artist whose practice spans painting, illustration, photography, ceramics, and installation. Moving fluidly between figurative and abstract expression, she has developed a distinctive visual language defined by bold colour, confident linework, and an intuitive approach to composition.
Rather than pursuing perfection, Mörner’s work embraces spontaneity and movement, creating dynamic encounters between form, colour, and emotion. Across different mediums, her practice explores the balance between energy and reflection, resulting in works that feel both immediate and deeply considered.
At Landet Stay, Mörner’s work enters into a quiet dialogue with its surroundings. The painting’s flowing, organic forms echo the rhythms of the natural world, while its palette resonates with the warm timber interiors and the landscape beyond. Together, artwork and architecture create a sense of harmony, where nature, design, and artistic expression coexist.
Johan Bjurmar
Johan Bjurmar is an artist, designer, and architect whose multidisciplinary practice moves between product design, painting, and spatial thinking. Working across disciplines, he explores the relationship between precision and intuition, creating works that balance conceptual clarity with expressive abstraction.
Central to Bjurmar’s practice is the collection of fragments — a line in a painting, a found text, a texture, a conversation, or a fleeting reflection. These observations accumulate over time, merging into works that carry traces of memory, experience, and place.
During his residency at Landet Stay, Bjurmar continued this process of attentive observation, allowing the atmosphere of the site and the experience of living closely with the landscape to become part of an evolving archive of impressions.
I often create archives of things, it could be a text I found, a line in a painting, a texture, a reflection on the wall, an old picture, or a conversation. I don't try to organize them, I just let them blend and become parts of my work like fragmented memories.

From the very first time I encountered Landet Stay through Umberto, I felt an immediate sense that this was a place where art could exist differently. Not confined to white walls, but integrated into atmosphere, architecture and nature. For me, as both curator and co founder of WAY gallery, the most meaningful part has been creating a context where artists are invited not only to exhibit, but to inhabit a place, slow down and let the surroundings influence their process.
Having a background as an artist myself, and now working more as a gallerist and art advisor, I’m constantly searching for new ways to make contemporary art feel alive and relevant within modern life. This collaboration has challenged and inspired me in exactly the right ways. Seeing the works unfold against wood, landscape and shifting light rather than within a traditional gallery setting has created a different kind of emotional presence.
What also excites me is the idea that guests will encounter these works in a more intimate and unexpected way during their stay, living with them, even briefly, rather than simply viewing them in a traditional gallery setting. The fact that the works are also available to acquire opens up a more personal and intuitive way of engaging with collecting outside the conventional gallery walls.

Art has been important to me ever since I was a kid, so it felt very natural for it to become part of Landet Stay from the beginning. We never wanted it to feel like just a hotel in nature, but a place shaped by creativity, culture and thoughtful people. Collaborating with artists and giving space to emerging voices is something we genuinely enjoy, both as a way of giving something back to a world that has given us so much over the years, and because art really changes how a place is experienced and remembered.
