Tove Eklund

Through collage and mixed media, Tove Eklund creates images that capture people and places in a moment of transition. Her works balance between the depicted and the unseen, where a look directed away or an atmosphere just outside the frame suggests narratives that extend beyond the image itself. The choice of materials such as pastel, acrylic and watercolour is adapted to the motif, allowing each work to take on a life of its own rather than reflecting a predetermined idea.

Eklund’s practice is grounded in a lifelong engagement with drawing and making. After early studies in sculpture at Hovedskous art school in Gothenburg, she has explored both illustration and her own independent creation. Her work was represented with three pieces at Liljevalchs Vårsalong in 2024, and in 2025 she presented her second solo exhibition at WAY gallery Sthlm, 'AKT', addressing themes of identity, performance and the roles we assume.

Tove Eklund (b. 1980 in Gothenburg, Sweden) lives and works in Stockholm. She studied at Hovedskous art school (2000 – 2002).
