Amanda Malm

Amanda Malm is a Skåne-based Swedish artist. With a background in design, she works across painting, sculpture, and glass fusing. Passionate about sustainability and self-expression, she often re-makes vintage clothing and repurposes materials such as paper and wood in her artistic practice.

Amanda explores the tension between control and unpredictability in her work, especially through the process of glass fusing, an ancient technique she is passionate about bringing into the contemporary spotlight. Her process typically begins as a burst of color and ideas that is gradually distilled into physical form. While she often starts with a clear mental image, she embraces the surprises that emerge from the kiln, letting the material take part in shaping the final result. She is drawn to materials that resist manipulation, challenging their limitations with playful experimentation and precision.

Influenced by the aesthetics and energy of the 1960s and 70s music scene, as well as her travels around the world, Amanda explores the interplay of shape, color, and texture. Her work merges diverse materials into vivid, tactile compositions that celebrate both process and imperfection.
