About the event

WAY gallery Sthlm proudly presents Fe fi fo fun for me, a solo exhibition by Yoyo Nasty. IN

the exhibition shows 6 new paintings on canvas. The large-scale paintings are accompanied by a

site-specific window painting.

The hand-painted window together with the large paintings embrace the visitor as one

surreal landscape of rolling hills and valleys. The color palette goes with light pastels

contrasting touches of ultramarine and burnt orange. In Fe fi fo fun for me nature is clearly visible

as the artist's great source of inspiration. With an imaginative approach it is captured

traditional subject somewhere between dream and reality. She depicts the rhythmic nature

plant power in harmonious, swirling movements with sharp palm fronds crowding among windings

flowers and citrus fruits.

Anthropomorphic animals are a consistent theme in Yoyo's visual world and in this exhibition is one of

her favorite characters – the tiger, extra prominent. The eccentric figure dances, shoots and

sticks out the tongue. The tiger's soft body is covered by green wavy stripes that also

recurs on patterned butterflies, flower petals and on a snake. Her personable and playful

characters evoke strong recognition and reflect Yoyo's identity. They express confidence,

freedom and curiosity.

The titles of the exhibition and the works are based on puns with rhymes such as "Eeny-meeny-miny-moe"

and "Bop-beep-bop" and encapsulate the playful approach that forms the core of Yoyo's practice.

Fe fi fo fun for me invites you to a fun-filled encounter with Yoyo Nasty's fantasy world.
